Approach to Adrenal Insufficiency

This podcast presents an approach to adrenal insufficiency, including the general physiology, etiologies, diagnosis, and management of the condition in the pediatric population. It was developed by Rebecca Quilty, a 4th-year medical student from Memorial University, in collaboration with Dr. Heather Power, a pediatric endocrinologist at Memorial University.


Neonatal Hypoglycaemia - CPS Podcast

This CPS podcast gives an organized approach to neonatal hypoglycaemia, the most common metabolic problem in neonates and the leading cause of admissions to the NICU. This podcast is based on the 2019 Canadian Paediatric Society Statement, "The screening and management of newborns at risk for low blood glucose." It was created by Carina Lauzon, a fourth-year medical student, with Dr. Michael Narvey, co-author of this CPS statement, and neonatologist Dr. Marc-Antoine Landry.


Diabetic Ketoacidosis

This podcast presents an approach to management of diabetic ketoacidosis in children. In this episode, listeners will learn signs and symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and the differential diagnosis for triggers of diabetic ketoacidosis. This podcast was created by Dr. Carly Rumley, a resident doctor at the University of Alberta and Dr. Jessica Foulds, a pediatrician and clinician educator at the Stollery Children's Hospital and the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

This podcast discusses management of infants that are large for gestational age (LGA) and infants of diabetic mothers (IDM). This episode will discuss screening and treatment for gestational diabetes, labor and delivery complications of LGA infants, and care of LGA infants after birth. It was developed by Manisha Tilak, a medical student at Queen’s University, and Dr. Robert Connelly, a neonatologist and Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Queen’s University.
