Kawasaki Disease - An update

This podcast on Kawasaki disease (KD) is an update to our 2009 podcast and further discusses the definition of KD, its differential diagnosis including Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome, and how to manage KD. It was created by Dr. Annie Cheung, NHS Scotland, and Dr. Mercedes Chan a pediatric rheumatologist at BC Children’s Hospital.


Chronic Nonbacterial Osteomyelitis (CNO)

This podcast will give you an approach to chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (CNO). In this episode, the listener will be able to 1) discuss the differential diagnosis for pediatric patients presenting with non-traumatic bony pain, 2) suggest appropriate investigations for these patients, 3) list the Bristol diagnostic criteria for CNO, and 4) outline two options in the treatment of patients with CNO. Approach to Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Listeners will learn the classification criteria, clinical features, and complications of systemic JIA as well as the role of a general pediatrician in its management. This podcast was developed by Dr. Rebecca Quilty, a pediatrics resident at Memorial University of Newfoundland in collaboration with Dr. Ronald Laxer, a pediatric rheumatologist at the University of Toronto.
