Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1)

This podcast will discuss Neurofibromatosis Type 1 or NF1, a congenital neuro-oculocutaneous disease and its possible neurologic, ophthalmic, and cutaneous manifestations. Retinoblastoma

This podcast will review a pediatric and ophthalmic emergency: retinoblastoma. We will review the pathophysiology, pertinent history and physical examination findings, appropriate investigations, and management of retinoblastoma. This podcast has been created by Ojas Srivastava, 3rd year medical student, Kim Papp, 2nd year medical student, Dr. Meghan Smith, Chief Ophthalmology Resident, and Dr. Carlos Solarte, Pediatric Ophthalmologist, all at the University of Alberta.


Pediatric Ptosis

This podcast covers an approach to pediatric ptosis. It was developed by Arshdeep Singh Marwaha, a 3rd year medical student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC along with Dr. Jane Gardiner, a pediatric ophthalmologist at the University of British Columbia.

 


Approach to Structural Eye Anomalies

This podcast will present an overview and organized approach to anomalies affecting ocular structures. In it, the listener will review relevant anatomy, learn to identify common structural eye anomalies, and develop an approach to managing these anomalies. The podcast was created by Arjan Dhoot, a third-year medical student at the University of Toronto, with support from Dr. Michael Wan, an ophthalmologist at the University of Toronto and SickKids Hospital.


The Diagnosis and Management of Orbital and Periorbital Cellulitis

This podcast presents the diagnosis and management of orbital and periorbital cellulitis. In this episode, listeners will learn about the relevant anatomy, basic definitions, most likely etiologies, and most common presentations of periorbital and orbital cellulitis, as well as the red flag features of severe disease. Furthermore, effective therapies, discharge criterion and follow-up plans for patients with periorbital and/or orbital cellulitis will be described.
